Safety precautions
Using a fixed drill and a
rotating work piece in
case of bores, a sharp
disc will result.
Safety precautions must
be observed. A safety
guard has to be provided
as protection.

Rotating Applications
(machining centres, transfer lines)
[Fixed Applications]
Fixed Applications
(turning lathes, production cells)

The CERATIZIT Maxidrill, drills longer holes in shorter time.
The well proven CERATIZIT Maxidrill programme has been enlarged.
In the diameter range from 14 - 53 mm two similar trigon shaped
inserts share the cutting work.
The outer and inner inserts are deliberately located to give balanced
cutting forces. Only very low radial cutting forces are generated and
therefore the hole remains straight as the drill does not deviate.
As a result one can drill holes with lengths up to three times
the diameter, which is a great step forward.

In addition to these advantages the Maxidrill has all the other features
of a high performance short hole drill.

1. Axial - Static Tool
The supply comes through the holding device via two axial holes in the
shank. The coolant enters from the top of the shaft.
Order example:
The basic package , consists of 2 screws for clamping the inserts ,
1 Maxidrill body ,1 Torx Screwdriver (without indexable inserts)

2. Radial - Static Tool
The supply is via the radial coolant ring
Order example:
Basic package as described in 1. additionally, you need to order:
Spare Part set for the radial coolant supply consisting of 1 Hoze
nozzle , , 1 Double Nipple , 2 Axial Plugs and 1 radial
hole Plug

3. Radial - Rotating Tool
The supply is via the coolant ring The coolant ring must be well
greased.
Order example:
Basic package as described in 1. Morse or tapered adaptor with
clamping screw . Also the radial coolant supply set consisting of:
2 Circlips , 1 Coolant ring , 1 Coolant Connector for the
adaptor.

4. Axial - Rotating Tool
Supply, as described in 1. For successful operation the coolant supply
must either be through the machine spindle or by a special coolant
supply adaptor.
Order example:
Basic package as described in 1. Also a special coolant supply
adaptor for Weldon mounting is needed. This adaptor is not stocked.
Price and delivery on request.

Important note:
The CERATIZIT Maxidrill can be used either in a static situation (e.g.
on a lathe) or as a rotating tool (e.g. on a milling machine). In a static
situation the tool will mainly be held in a VDI mounting.
When used as a rotating tool mounting will either be by the Maxidrill-
Adaptor or in a Weldon mount.
With the Weldon System you should only tighten the front screw i.e.
that which is nearer to the drill.
