Basic Principles

The LTA devices function according to the electrostatic principle. The polluted air
is sucked into the device and goes through a mechanical pre-filter which separates
gross dirt particles and reducing the dust/mist concentration. At the same time,
the pre-filter serves as protection against foreign bodies. This means that the
electrostatic filter that follows has an adequate service life, and can cope with its
task, which is to separate very fine particles (diameter down to 0.01 µm).
The type and size of the pre-filter must be selected in accordance with the task.


In the next ionizer the finer particles are charged electrically (ionized). The collector consists of metal plates which are connected alternately to voltage or earth. This creates an electric field between the plates that causes the particles to be diverted to the plates, thus separating them out. Oil mist, emulsion mist or from other fluids are also held back here

and brought back into the machine or collected separately. The voltage applied to the collector and ioniser can be changed, enabling adaptation to the specific application. After that the cleaned air flows through an afterfilter whose task is to neutralise the charged particles. LTA offers a large number pre-filters and afterfilter variants which can be tailored to the filtration task.
